The Texas Board of Professional Engineers requires that all professional engineers must earn 15 PDH of continuing education annually. Renewal dates are based on the date that follows the quarter that the license was issued in: March 31, June 30th, September 30th or December 31st. At least 1 PDH must be in Professional Ethics, Roles & Responsibilities of Prof Engineering or review of the Texas Engineering Practice Act and Board Rules. A maximum of 5 PDH is allowed for self-study. Online courses are not considered self-directed study. The Texas Board of Professional Engineers does not pre-approve providers or specific courses. Each engineer must determine whether an activity meets the TBPE requirements.
